- Open a conversation on Windows.
- Select some text.
- (check the right click : ok, there are copy/search options)
- click an non-IB window
- right-click on the selected text in the conversation

Expected result: the window gets its focus back and the contextual menu pops with copy/search options

Actual result: the window gets its focus back but the contextual menu contains the single "select all" option that is the same as the one you get without an active selection.

It seems to be a Windows issue only (tested by Quentin on Linux and Florian on MacOSX).

Etienne also missed to add that the wrong contextual menu is not the only thing that seems to indicate that Ib think there is no selection : Ctrl+C also doesn't work after the window gets its focus back.

This it is probably a big source of incomprehension for a lot of Windows users that can't make any sense as of why they can't copy some text while a selection looks there.
On the behalf of Florian:
Closing bugs related to the Instantbird UI as WONTFIX, as the development of the standalone chat client Instantbird has stopped. Instantbird users are encouraged to migrate to Thunderbird. The user interface of instant messaging in Thunderbird will feel familiar, as the Thunderbird IM support started as a fork of Instantbird.
