*** Original post on bio 1993 at 2013-06-07 10:56:00 UTC *** Once bug 953867 (bio 426) lands, we can reduce the number of windows IB opens by default, by opening the following in a tab: - Add-on Manager - Account Manager - Log viewer (would also allow multiple log viewers at the same time) Filing this bug to discuss whether this is wanted - individual items may end up being spun out into separate bugs.

*** Original post on bio 1993 at 2013-06-07 11:36:41 UTC *** Remember that a lot of people keep their chat window small, i.e. the add-on manager would look awful in the size window I use.

Maybe we should check for this and open it in a window if the chat window is too small?

On the behalf of Florian: Closing bugs related to the Instantbird UI as WONTFIX, as the development of the standalone chat client Instantbird has stopped. Instantbird users are encouraged to migrate to Thunderbird. The user interface of instant messaging in Thunderbird will feel familiar, as the Thunderbird IM support started as a fork of Instantbird.
