*** Original post on bio 1504 at 2012-06-11 18:38:00 UTC *** The page [1] that should list the language packages and dictionaries is only showing a very short selection of all dictionaries. There are others showing more (maybe all?). [1] is the only link from the category dropdown menu so people will most likely miss most of the available dictionaries since there are no obvious links to the more complete pages (I went to an unrelated dictionary and clicked the "Dictionaries" category below its name to go there). [1] https://addons.instantbird.org/en-US/instantbird/browse/type:3 [2] https://addons.instantbird.org/en-US/instantbird/browse/type:3/cat:9 [3] https://addons.instantbird.org/en-US/instantbird/browse/type:3/cat:9?sort=newest

To be listed on the special page, a language pack / dictionary must meet some requirements that are : 1/ The addon should be public (not in sandbox) 2/ The addon should have a specific field called "target locale" set. The thing is this setting is not accessible to the random user. Only reviwers & admins can set this one. This prevents users from adding any very specific or stupid dictionary in the main list. The situation is probably stupid but as is there is no easy way out. I suppose the reviewers should be careful about langpack & dict and set the correct field when pushing to public an addon in this category if it fits the basic quality requirements. Hope this clears things out.

*** Original post on bio 1504 at 2012-06-11 19:54:46 UTC *** OK, thanks for the explanation. Short update: it turned out that being a reviewer doesn't seem to be good enough to edit the dictionaries for this page, so this problem is persisting (in a different form than initially expected).
