956012 - Desktop b2g with local profile is trying to load the SIM / JavaScript error: conn.setVoicePrivacyMode is not a function

When running desktopb2g with a custom profile.

*Note this is the same process as running on TBPL hence this bug affects TBPL and I have marked it as major*

STR
1: Download the build:
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/b2g/nightly/2014-01-01-04-02-01-mozilla-central/

2. in Gaia repo/directory run:
DEBUG=0 DESKTOP=0 DESKTOP_SHIMS=1 NOFTU=0 make
(NB, this is the same as TBPL uses)

3. Start b2g using the new profile:
./b2g-bin --profile $HOME/Mozilla/gaia/profile

4. Complete the FTU,
note in the statusbar there is a [!] SIM icon.
in the terminal window will be the following error messages:

Changing component to gaia as this is sort of caused by the fact that we have shims for this stuff.

Developers are having a hard time testing 1.3 due to the outdated shims. It would be nice to uplift this to 1.3 so we can take advantage of more b2g desktop features. See bug 956427 for an example. The changed file is not part of the build, so there should be zero risk in taking this.

Shouldn't we then ask for approval, rather than nominating this to block?

Yes, that probably makes the most sense. I'm not smart enough for flags yet, I will figure them out some day :)
