Description:
After adding FB from e.me to the homescreen, a message appears with suggestion to download the latest FB version, then a user can download another app from the "Marketplace"

Repro Steps:

2) Reset device if need it, to start from FTE screen
3) Go through FTE screen
4) Navigate left into the "e.me screen"
5) Open "Social" and long tap the Facebook icon to save it to the homescreen
6) Launch the FB app
7) When updating message appears tap "OK" and "Install"to download the latest version
8) Go to the "Marketplace" app
9) Download Facebook app from the "Marketplace"
10) Observe the homescreen FB apps

Actual:
Up to three Facebook apps appear on the homescreen

Expected:
Only 1 Facebook app could be downloaded for the homescreen

Environmental Variables:
Device: Buri 1.4 MOZ
BuildID: 20140102040201
Gaia: 67a82f88da231969efa4d22df9fb946abf2cf4df
Gecko: 540d85f60c57
Version: 29.0a1
Firmware Version: v1.2_20131115

Notes:
Repro frequency: 100%
See attached: screenshot
The three FB apps that are possible probably are:

* The e.me Facebook app
* The http Facebook app
* The https Facebook app

We shouldn't be showcasing the http version of the Facebook app, so that's a TE issue.

Colby, can you please look into this bug and provide a fix date?

Elisa, I don't know anything about the e.me listing. Is that something we own or is that on your end?

The preferred manifest URL is https://m.facebook.com/openwebapp/manifest.webapp

I'm looking into the install prompt, to make sure we aren't encouraging people to install from other subdomains or something, but it seems to me that the big problem is e.me is installing a different manifest or not installing our manifest at all.

The bug here is that Buri 1.4 has a HTTP FB version installed. How can that be? All preloads should be changed to the HTTPS manifest URL.

On the 3 FB apps:

I don't understand the severity here: If we could create 2 apps with e.me and Marketplace; would that be a bug? If it is, it is a platform design bug.

The pre-installed version of Facebook is fixed in future phone updates. And using the HTTP version will trigger an update prompt and hopefully leading the user into deleting this outdated shortcut. This is suboptimal workaround and the best we could do at this point for bug 947498.

I would close this bug as wontfix as there is nothing FB can do here.
