User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:26.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/26.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20131206152142

Steps to reproduce:

When downloading a large addon like the firefox OS simulator, after clicking the allow, the download dialogue box just disappeared after clicking elsewhere or changing the tab.

Actual results:

It disallows the user to see actual download happening, and think the download is not even happening. The user wont be able to even abort the download.

Expected results:

The install addon dialogue box should remain there itself, even if the tab is changed or normal browsing is continued.
A addons-notification-icon() appears at the left side of location bar while downloading.
And you can click the addons-notification-icon to show the arrow panel.
And you can also cancel to download to click x button in the arrow panel.

So I think this should be WONTFIX.
Summary: When installing addon from AMO, after clicking allow, the dialogue box disappers when clicked elsewhere on the page → When installing addon from AMO, after clicking allow, the dialogue box / doorhanger with progress disappers when clicked elsewhere on the page

I understand and encountered this issue several times, and I once encountered the click page anywhere cause the notice disappear.

However, it seems to fixed in Fx30 and before, because I did not see it again recently. so, to WFM?

Also, I just fill up bug 1018578 as its complement.

Clear steps to reproduce would've really helped…

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:32.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/32.0
Built from https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/323156681cef

1. Open two tabs.
2. Go to https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/labs/fxos-simulator/
3. Click any of the "Install Firefox OS…" buttons.
4. The doorhanger notification appears on the left side of the address bar. Click Allow. The add-on starts installing.
5. Close the tab.

Actual results:
There's no doorhanger notification, so there's no way to cancel the installation or check on the download progress. Undo Close Tab reopens the tab but the puzzle piece icon isn't on the left side of the address bar, so there's no way to open the doorhanger notification.

Expected results:
The add-on installation doorhanger shouldn't be tab-specific.

I'm still seeing this in Nightly (2014-05-31), complete with the add-on still downloading when the tab is closed. I'm not saying the latter is bad behavior per-se, just when combined with this issue.

Isn't that a duplicate of this?

Yes, basically same STR with bug 1018578...

Yes, but it is only partially reproducible for latest, seems does not include the *clicking elsewhere*.
Maybe I missed the *changing the tab* meaning.

Maybe. I just want to respect the original summary (not do change) at that time, and think these are two similar but different problems.
