does FTP work with a null mCacheSession? also, why remove the pref? why not just make FTP work without a cache session?

yes. ftp works with a null mCacheSession. removal of the pref was suggested by gordon in bug 92908
If FTP works with mCacheSession == nsnull, then r=gordon. Thanks for cleaning this up Doug.

VERIFIED: Mozilla 08.13.2002 - 1.0.1 commercial branch I set this pref to false in prefs.js and did some surfing and getting w/ ftp.mozilla.org
