In my experiences, this seems to occur most frequently with poor internet connections though I cannot consistently reproduce.

This may be a platform bug because I think I've seen it on desktop (usually w/ STR like reloading a page that is in the process of loading but has not yet started painting (and I've always assumed it has not connected to the server), which causes the URL change to "about:blank").

Just adding that I've also seen similar problems in Metro Firefox, or when switching between desktop and Metro.  So I agree it may be a platform bug, or a bug in common across the three related session store implementations.

I've also seen this about:blank problem, but also on desktop[*]. What's particularly annoying is that the URL is lost and the tab can't be reloaded.

[*] Only with the main Twitter URL, in a pinned tab. This happens at start-up with many tabs to be recalled, in particular with slow connections.
