On an IMAP account, (i've seen that occasionally for a while now) some subdirs arent checked for new messages until i navigate to those subdirs, although i have 'check for new messages' ticked and i'm subscribed to those subdirs. Turns out i had 'Keep messages for this account on this computer' checked, and in the list of subdirs for that setting those given subdirs were unticked for some reason (probably because they were created on the server after i fiddled with 'items for offline use' setting). So it seems those two settings are conflicting on the notification/subdir poll behaviour ?

Hi Landry. Do you still see this issue when using a curent version??

Flags: needinfo?(landry)

Yeah, i should spend some time on a test account/profile to identify the STRs, but on my work account with tons of folders using betas since forever, i got used to quickly click on all the subfolders where i want to check for new msgs. I'm not even sure anymore if this is linked to the 'created on the server after last items for offline use change or subscription change' ..

Or that's smth OpenBSD-specific, but i doubt it - dont see any obvious reason it would. The only 'meaningful' patch we carry is the sqlite SECURE_DELETE pragma.
