Which answers the following questions: - how to disambiguate frecency results with same favicon? - how does it interleave with history/frecency items? - how many are we showing? - how to handle search default without suggests? - how to handle asynchrony of results?

Stephen, I see you want to align the icons with the icon in the locationbar. What's expected to happen if there are other button to the left of the back button, or if we are showing the forward button? My second question is, should we keep using the default empty dotted favicon for entries not having a favicon, even if it looks quite bad in this context? (see bug 1074937 for example). Should we rather use the globe icon as suggested here (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1074937#c3)?

(In reply to Marco Bonardo [::mak] from comment #3) > Stephen, I see you want to align the icons with the icon in the locationbar. > What's expected to happen if there are other button to the left of the back > button, or if we are showing the forward button? Results should still be aligned even if we have stuff to the left of the icon in the location bar. Which right now is the forward button and the notification area. Although really I would prefer not to show the notification area if you are actively in typing/searching mode form Awesome Bar. > My second question is, should we keep using the default empty dotted favicon > for entries not having a favicon, even if it looks quite bad in this > context? I think the dotted outline doesn't work that well in a lot places. Would work better as a transient thing while we fetch a favicon or decide there isn't a favicon and switch to the globe.

This means the popup should still take the whole screen and have empty space on the left, or it should start at a fixed offset from the textfield (enough space to contain the star and whatever we put on the left)?

This mockup shows 8 result entries by default. Since the results take a smaller height it would be nice to change the current 6 entries for 8 entries and get rid of the scrollbar at the same time.
