The follow legal pages remain in SVN on the old PHP website. They will need to be ported to Bedrock (the new website platform), archived, or removed:

And this one needs to be ported to Bedrock:

I need to follow up with Legal on the remaining pages:

What URL should this live at in Bedrock? Maybe just /privacy/firefox/

Also, if we remove the old versions of the Firefox privacy policy, should we remove the links to the historical versions from the bottom of the ported http://mozilla.com/legal/privacy/firefox.html page?

Also, it might be worth redirecting at least http://mozilla.com/legal/privacy/ to the new /privacy or /privacy/firefox/ page.
Oh, I think some of these old historical versions might be in bedrock: https://github.com/mozilla/bedrock/pull/1576

I'll look into it further.
Thanks, Steven.

I'll ask Legal about the historical versions again too. In my last conversation, she said they could be deleted, but I'll confirm.
Steven-

Please note: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/legal/privacy/firefox.html will be built from scratch by Kohei in bedrock per bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=963816. So the SVN file can be deleted when that work is done.
Hi Mika-

Just wanted to check in with you on the historical versions of Firefox privacy policies.

Do you want them to be live on mozilla.org? Would you like us to save them for you somewhere offline?

Thx,
Jen

Thanks for checking. No need to live on mozilla.org. Saving offline for now would be great -- I'll check with Jishnu what our retention policy is so you have a consistent way to delete these documents.

So can we remove all the archives from mozilla.org safely, including the current policy that will be replaced with attachment 8366347 [details]?

Regarding the links that can Jen mentioned in comment 2:

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/legal/bylaws_amendment_1.html
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/legal/bylaws_amendment_2.html
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/about/legal.html
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/legal/articles.html
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/legal/bylaws.html
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/legal/amendment.html

It looks like Mozilla's corporate documents are kept at: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/foundation/documents/

Is there someone at the Foundation who is responsible for the content on this page? It's possible some of the links above should be moved over

Hi Kohei and Jen,

I'm sorry to backtrack on what I said earlier (which was to just remove all older policies). The feedback this week was that it would be better aligned with our transparent mission if we linked to a single webpage that contained all the historical privacy policies for all products (Firefox, Mozilla websites, etc.). It's up to you whether you want to group the policies by category or date, or just have a long uncategorized list. Also up to you whether you want to keep all older policies or cut off at a certain date.

Let me know if we should jump on vidyo to talk about this for a few minutes, since this is different from what I suggested earlier.
Thanks,
Mika
Hi-

Here's guidance from Mika on the non-privacy docs:

Migrate these pages and add links to them from the Mozilla Foundation About page (http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/foundation/about/), under the link " Bylaws of the Mozilla Foundation " :
    * http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/legal/bylaws_amendment_1.html
    * http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/legal/bylaws_amendment_2.html

Migrate these pages and add links to them on the Mozilla Foundation About page (http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/foundation/about/), under a new section called "Articles of Mozilla Corporation":
    * http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/legal/articles.html
    * http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/legal/amendment.html

Migrate this page and add links to it on the Mozilla Foundation About page, under a new section called "Bylaws of Mozilla Corporation":
    * http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/legal/bylaws.html

Migrate this page to Bedrock:
    * http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/about/legal.html

Thanks,
Jen (& Mika)

Hi Mika and Kohei-

We took care of the privacy policy archive with this page, correct?

A big batch of these pages are now redirected to bedrock (thanks Kohei!).

Everything in /en-US/legal/privacy/ can go [1]

The only URL in there that doesn't seem to be nicely redirected to bedrock is http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/legal/privacy/notices-firefox/index.html which seems to be redirecting to a 404 (http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/legal/firefox/). I can't seem to find where that redirect is coming from though. Regardless, though, the PHP file behind it isn't being used.

The attached patch removes everything in /en-US/legal/privacy

I'm not 100% sure the /documents/ portions of the URLs proposed above is necessary. It does match some of other files in bedrock, but may not be necessary. Thoughts?

Thanks - we're close on this one.

Add missing [PT] for /legal/firefox/

Bug 960689 Comment 16. @sgarrity noticed that /legal/firefox/ was 404.
Somehow /b/ [PT] was lost during development.
I'm porting the http://www.mozilla.org/about/legal.html page to Bedrock. The page contains this snippet:

"...terms and conditions located at http://www.mozilla.org/about/licensing.html."

That URL is now a redirected to http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/foundation/licensing/

Is it ok to change the link (both where it points, and the actual text you see/click), or is that some how magic immutable legalese?

How about we make it like this since it is how we reference it later in the doc? Then change the url to be the bedrock url

"General Representation and Warranty. You represent and warrant that your use of Mozilla’s websites will be in accordance with Mozilla’s Privacy Policy, with these Legal Disclaimers and Limitations, with any applicable laws and regulations, and with any other applicable policy or terms and conditions, including without limitation those policies and terms and conditions located on our <a href="[foundation.licensing]">Licensing Policies page.</a>"

also, at the bottom change the url to the bedrock URL too:

"For more information about these and other licensing policies, please see our <a href="[foundation.licensing]">Licensing Policies page.</a>. If you have any other questions about complying with our licensing terms for this collection, you should email:"
Mike: we are porting over the legal page (http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/about/legal.html) word-for-word over to the bedrock design that we use on all new pages. The only change that we are requesting is that in the legal statements it says "http://www.mozilla.org/about/licensing.html" directly in the text. That URL is no longer valid and it redirects to another URL (http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/foundation/licensing/). We would like to update the URL in the text and make it says "Licensing Policies page" instead of the URL itself. That is how it is referenced later in the text. The rest of the text is exactly the same.

Is this fine?

Mika: comment 21 and 22 mention this minor change.
Also, should the mailing address on this page change to the new Mountain View address? Is Harvey still the appropriate name?

Yep, fine to replace the URL. I changed the text - here's the one you should use:

"General Representation and Warranty. You represent and warrant that your use of Mozilla’s websites will be in accordance with Mozilla’s Privacy Policy, with these Legal Disclaimers and Limitations, with any applicable laws and regulations, and with any other applicable policy or terms and conditions, including without limitation our <a href="[foundation.licensing]">Licensing Policies.</a>"

Please update to Mountain View. Harvey's name should be replaced with: Denelle Dixon-Thayer. If his title is also listed, please replace with "General Counsel and SVP Business Affairs"
:sgarrity: can you update your PR with comment 26 and comment 27 feedback?

Ah, you can also remove /ja/about/legal.html. I copied the file locally and will port that localized page to Bedrock.
FYI: Mozilla Japan prepared /ja/about/legal.html after GetPersonas.com was launched, because we have got some inquiries about Persona assets from Japanese copyright holders.
Hrm. I just noticed that the Digital Millennium Copyright Act Notice and Trademark Notices sections on /ja/about/legal.html had been replaced with notices based on Japanese laws. Also the current translation lacks the Site Licensing Policy section. So it cannot be simply ported to Bedrock until Bug 577778 is solved. I'll file a separate bug to deal with it.
(In reply to Kohei Yoshino [:kohei] from comment #35)

We should probably wait until the legal page is revamped in Bug 997577. /ja/about/legal.html will continue to be available at
