After shutting down Mozilla, I attemtped to start it up again a little hastily.
Mozilla did not appear to react; it did not give its warning window telling me
to wait for the previous shutdown.

CTRL-ALT-DEL showed Mozilla as a normal running process. I took a DrWatson dump.
Note the incomplete entry for Mozilla as a running process.

Workaround: I used CTRL-ALT-DEL to End Task. I got a window saying Mozilla was
not responding; I clicked End Task. After this shutdown, Mozilla works normally.

Reproducibity: I've only seen this once.

I got a similar type of situation today. AFAIK, I had not rebooted since first
reporting this bug. In this case, I was able to use the Mail component, but when
I tried to click links in the mail window that would use the broswer, I
encountered various minor bugs:
1) the last two icons on the task bar (including Stop) were not drawn as icons,
although the Stop function worked when I clicked on it.
2) Trying to download and auto-start an Adobe PDF file hung until I backed out
of the page (I think the hourglass was displayed)

I exited Mozilla, and took a DrWatson snapshot, for CTRL-ALT-DELl showed the
incomplete Mozilla process still running. Unfortunately, I failed to save it
properly, so it's not available.

3) A few minutes later, the Windows Desktop was shown with the icons as outlines
displayed as all-white icons on the regular background colour. Refreshing the
Desktop produced no change. At that point, I rebooted, and Mozilla has be
working OK since.

Saw the bug again today. I have a local page that links to various http and ftp
sites. When I clicked on one of the ftp's I had no response, and Mozilla would no
longer respond. (There was some ftp message at the bottom of the window, but I
don't remember what it was).
I was able to exit Mozilla, but it would not start again. In the light of my
earlier experiences, I rebooted Windows instead of simply CTRL-ALT-DEL and End Task.
The attached DrWatson dump (09/09/01) shows Mozilla running, but with an
incomplete entry.

I can consistently reproduce this behavior on slower machines that take longer
for mozilla to shutdown.

The issue of mozilla not properly starting up if a previous instance hasn't
fully shut down is valid.  Other programs seem to behave better in this aspect.
 However, I don't see how the rest of the comments pertain to this particular
bug.  (Was the behavior in the other comments related to starting up Mozilla
immediately after shutting it down??)

If necessary, file another bug, but please keep comments relative to the bug's
topic and context.

I can understand that this is a relatively minor (and difficult to fix) bug in
the eyes of most engineers, so I'm setting the severity as such, but I'm asking
that this not be marked WONTFIX.

I'm not seeing a bug here. I've been testing around on win98 on a P100 with 32MB
RAM and not seeing hangs.
