Build ID: 20140115144555

Steps to reproduce:

Long-pressing S in the German keyboard does not suggest LATIN CAPITAL LETTER SHARP S (U+1E9E). Please add it so that users who want to use it can do so easily. For more information about this character, see http://opentype.info/blog/2011/01/24/capital-sharp-s/
Hi Adolfo,

May I know what is the difference between this bug Bug 960259?

BTW, just tried to enable German keyboard on Android 4.4, but did not see this character, "LATIN CAPITAL LETTER SHARP S (U+1E9E)", but only a "SS" character.
In this bug I’m just suggesting to add this uppercase character as an alternative to “SS”, for the reasons stated in the blog post I linked. The other bug wants to remove the *lowercase* ß from all keyboard layouts but German’s, because they think its presence harms.
Hi Adolfo,

Please refer to bug 960259 comment 9 and comment 11 that we don't need to add any alternative chars to "S" per :aryx's comment.

If you think it is ok, then I'll close this bug or dupe this to that.
And if no, please comment on that bug to have a discussion.

Thanks.

OK, I’ve already stated in that bug that I disagree. Clearing “needinfo” status.
