Multiple Master Password Prompts at Start-up

When restoring a session if you have more than one tab that points to a site requiring authentication, you get multiple Master Password prompts. In many cases a MP prompt will steal focus from a previous MP prompt part way through typing in the master password. This problem was solved somewhere back around FF 3.6 or FF 4, but it has reappeared in Aurora 28.0a2 (or perhaps a bit earlier). The Master Password + add-on fixes the issue and adds additional control over the Master Password. One feature that I would suggest be considered for inclusion in the FF Master Password implementation is the checkbox to force the MP dialog to appear immediately on start-up every time Firefox is started.

Tested on the 01/22 Aurora opened in 32-bit mode but I couldn't reproduce this issue. Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.9; rv:28.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/28.0 (20140122004004) Could you reproduce this issue with a clean profile?

No. I can't seem to reproduce it with an "almost clean" profile. (Master password turned on and a few site passwords remembered). I'll try Syncing just passwords and see if that brings it back.

I have the same issue on FF32 Linux. I have one popup per authenticated tab, +1 for a RSS feed. I also tried on a "almost clean profile" on FF30 Windows, and did not reproduced (4 times the same tab). If someone wants me to do some test, I can.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:41.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/41.0 20150604030205 Can anyone still reproduce this in the current version of Firefox? I can't reproduce this. I also tried unchecking “Don't load tabs until selected”. There was still only one master password prompt for 3 tabs with saved login information loaded at startup. E10s status made no difference. (In reply to valentin from comment #4) > I have the same issue on FF32 Linux. Under Linux, did you test in a brand new profile as well? (In reply to Catalin Varga [QA][:VarCat] from comment #2) > I couldn't reproduce this issue. (In reply to Richard A Milewski[:richard] from comment #3) > No. I can't seem to reproduce it with an "almost clean" profile. So that's 3 instances of “works for me”, reporter included. This could be closed then.

I have to say, it did not happened to me for some time... (at least it wasn't annoying enough for me to notice). Here is a little test case I just did : * pin 3 times a tab that require my password (it was 3x the same) * restart firefox and wait * the master password box prompt, and I fill my password once * the three tab have then access to my password Note that, despite my previous comment, I have not anymore a RSS feed with HTTP auth. Tested on Ubuntu 14.04, FF40 (dev edition with e10s).
