User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/32.0.1700.76 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce: Installed fresh Firefox 26. Launched application. Notes: Has also happened on last 3 versions. Have sometimes fixed by removing FF COMPLETELY and re-installing. This is first time it has crashed on a fresh install. No problems with IE or Chrome. Actual results: PC crashed and re-booted. After re-boot, any attempt to open FF causes same thing. All Temp files (Windows\Temp; Users\[name]\AppData\Local\Temp) had been cleared, all Mozilla directories (left over after uninstall) in AppData and Program Files were deleted before re-installing. Expected results: Should have opened Firefox. Dell XPS Notebook i7 processor, 8Gb RAM, Win7, NVidia GeForce GT640M graphics card, running extended desktop to Samsung 24" monitor S24B300.
Suspect it is graphics driver related, possibly problems with 24" monitor. Have experienced similar graphics-type issues with my home PC.
If your PC crashes, the hardware is faulty, probably the drivers. Did you update them (GPU)? In addition, can you test with HWA disabled, please. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/forum-response-disable-hardware-acceleration
