User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.9; rv:29.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/29.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20140123030204 Steps to reproduce: Watch the 30 years apple video on http://www.apple.com/30-years/ . Hoover with the mouse over the playing movie to show the controls. Actual results: Below the controls also a part of my bookmarks bar is shown for a short moment (see screenshot attached). Expected results: Only the controls should appear.
[bugday-20140127] Windows 7 32 bit Firefox 29.0a1 (2014-01-26) unable to reproduce Does the bug happen on other Firefox versions? Do you have certain or a certain number of bookmarks or tabs opened?
I have 4 pinned tabs and around 5 normal tabs open all the time. But this doesn't have an impact as far as I can tell. The bug seems to be mac specific. I can't reproduce it on my win8 machine either using the current stable version.
Thanks for reporting this. Can you try if it happens in Firefox safe mode [1] and with a new fresh profile [2]? [1] https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode [2] https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles It works for me on Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.9; rv:26.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/26.0

Seems like it is not reproducable in safe mode. But if I just manually disable all extensions (in normal mode + restart), the phenomenon is always reproducable. Of course only if the bookmarks bar is enabled.

I just created a new profile and I could reproduce this behavior after having enabled the bookmarks toolbar and put some bookmarks there.
Since this issue does not occur in safe mode most probably the problem is related to a theme or hardware acceleration. Try following the suggestions reported here to understand which is your specific. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-extensions-themes-to-fix-problems#w_the-problem-does-not-occur-in-safe-mode
It's hardware acceleration. If I disable it in the preferences, this glitch doesn't happen.

A similar effect can be seen when scrolling down this page http://www.google.de/intl/en/chrome/devices/features/ .
I can't repro on FF 29.0a1(2014-02-02), Mac OS X 10.9, AMD Radeon HD 6630
I'm on a Macbook Core2Duo @ 2Ghz with a Nvidia GeForce 9400M 256 MB. I guess it's a driver bug on Apple's side then.
(In reply to beingalink from comment #10) > I'm on a Macbook Core2Duo @ 2Ghz with a Nvidia GeForce 9400M 256 MB. I guess > it's a driver bug on Apple's side then. Are you using the most recent driver?
Flags: needinfo?(beingalink)
I'm always installing updates, so I'm also always using the latest driver (only apple provides these). It seems like the original video isn't there anymore but I just tried http://www.apple.com/macbook-air/stickers/#video-stickers and I can't reproduce the problem anymore. I'm on OS 10.10 beta so I don't know if the problem is also fixed for 10.9.
