From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:0.9.3) Gecko/20010801 BuildID: 20011080110 The Netscape 6.x stuff has advanced built-in cookie management facilities, but I've been using Cookie Pal for over a year and am loathe to give it up. I sent a message in to their tech support and this was the reply: <quote> Hi Jason, Netscape 6.x (and other Mozilla based browsers) is unsupported by Cookie Pal at the current time. This is due to the fact that the Netscape browser no longer uses standard alert windows when cookies are received and Cookie Pal is currently unable to obtain cookie information from Netscape as cookies are received. We are working on supporting Netscape 6.x by using some different, more advanced techniques, but I do not have any information yet as to when this will be available. New information will be posted on our web site at http://www.kburra.com as it becomes available. Regards, Brenton Pattison Kookaburra Software http://www.kburra.com </quote> This message is more of an FYI that someone is already working on it at the Kookaburra level than a request for someone on the Mozilla team to look into it. Thank you! -Jason Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Download and install the trial version of Cookie Pal from http://www.kburra.com. 2. Open up your Mozilla based browser. 3. When a cookie notice pops up, right-click on your Cookie Pal icon and ask it to "Add Browser" 4. You will get an error. Actual Results: Error message: Cookie Pal can not find a cookie alert message. Expected Results: Browser successfully added. I am running Cookie Pal version 1.6c, but the issue would exist regardless of what version I was running.

jrdepriest@hotmail.com: is This still an issue ?
I'm not sure this is worth worrying about. Presumably there would have had to be a total rewrite when Gecko moved to Permissions.sqlite anyway, and I think this sort of functionality is probably adequately covered by extensions and built-in prefs these days.
Let's close this one. :) Sorry for the Netscape 6 users… ;)
