Details
Installed by pdfforge.org's PDF Creator installer. Does not bypass about:newaddon, but the default search engine is changed to Conduit by the installer while the browser is still running, and the default homepage and new tab page are changed after a restart. A system service then prevents the user from reverting the changes.

The developer claims that the bad installer is not theirs and the one on their website doesn't do any of this. If this is the case, do you know where you got the bad installer from?

I believe it came from download.com. I'll look into it again.

I initially installed from download.com, because pdfforge.org was down. PDFForge installs Amazon 1Button and PDF Architect Converter without bypassing about:newaddon, but it does change the default search engine to Amazon, and move Google to the 6th position, regardless of opt-in.

Closing old blocklist requests that shouldn't be valid after the move to WebExtensions-only in Firefox 57. Please comment if you think this bug is still valid and should be reopened.
