Steps to reproduce:

When the same web page is opened in two Firefox windows (1st at notebook's LCD 2nd at external LCD), zoom feature applied to one window does the same for inactive window (in this case opened at 2nd instance of firefox on ext. LCD)



Expected results:

Independent inactive window should not anwer for calls to another (active) window.

innocense_1991, when I zoom in with the keyboard shortcut or View menu while viewing one page, my other open tabs and windows don't zoom. That's the behavior I'd expect.  I don't think this is a duplicate of bug 65571, which is about zoom settings across browser sessions.

sunblade, have you considered updating to the latest version of Firefox?  Would you mind trying this in Firefox 28 to see if it still happens? Also, it would be a good idea to try it with a clean profile and in Firefox Safe mode: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

I can see this behavior with different tabs and windows that are pointing to the same domain.  Steps to reproduce: 
Open http://google.com in one tab
Open http://google.com/calendar in another tab (or another window)
Zoom in with Command + or the View--> Zoom menu on the first tab. The other tab will also zoom.

Other tabs that aren't pointing to the same domain aren't affected.

I just realized that bug 419609 specifies the intention that other open tabs or windows pointing to the same domain *should* zoom.   Even though that was intentional, someone from either tabs or the access team still may want to assess whether this is a bug or a feature. I suspect it may be a good accessibility feature for many people.

This is working as intended. You can set the browser.zoom.siteSpecific hidden preference to false to disable this behavior.
