Is this a requirement?
blocking-b2g: --- → 1.4?
Apparantly you don't have to bother turning on bluetooth, taking a screenshot... it's just turn wifi go to maps.google.com and share the geolocation. then tap current location. It should show the geolocation. Geolocation does show briefly if you share the homescreen.
Summary: Geolocation icon in status bar no longer shows → Geolocation icon in status bar no longer shows after going to maps.google.com and sharing location.

Turns out that's a different bug.

Does this reproduce on 1.3?

This does reproduce on 1.3.

There is no geolocation icon in status bar after following modified STRs in Comment 2. I also note maps.google.com shows a "Cannot determine location" message but the map is centered about a 100 miles away from my physical location.

What about 1.2?

Actually - let's do 1.1 here.
On v1.1 I show a geolocation icon in the status bar but I'm still getting "your location could not be determined" message on maps.google.com and map is centered about a 100 miles from my physical location.

v1.1 Environmental Variables:
Device: Buri v1.1 MOZ

Okay - that implies we've got a regression here. Even if we fail to get the location, we're still supposed to show the geolocation icon to indicate that the location is trying to be determined for the user.
Component: General → Gaia::System
The regression window is 11-27-2013 to 11-28-2013.

Alive,

Can you please review for geolocation icon. 1.3+

Flags: needinfo?(alive)
Lemme find someone to work on this.
BTW, the first glance seems a gecko bug. The logic in statusbar doesn't change for a long time.
I wonder gecko doesn't fire the geolocation event to system.

Looks that way - it's a regression from bug 935361, which implies bug 951785 isn't fixed.
