The Marketplace app is mostly left untranslated after switching the language to Bengali. All strings and pages are not translated.

Repro Steps:
1) Updated Buri to BuildID: 20140205004002
2) Select Benali as the language
3) Open the Marketplace app
4) Navigate through the app to verify that it is untranslated

Actual:
The app as a whole is untranslated.

Expected:
The app would be fully translated.

Sara, you are right. None are translated.

Hi Mahay,

Are you on the list of dev-l10n-web@lists.mozilla.org? Wil is the lead developer of marketplace and he sends out an automated email on a regular basis to list the delta of missing localized strings for various components. here is a way to see the overall status: http://l10n.mozilla-community.org/~flod/mpstats/.

To start localizing, you can delegate various components to a few people. In the order of priority:

1) Front End: https://localize.mozilla.org/bn_BD/fireplace/
2) Payment: https://localize.mozilla.org/projects/webpay/
3) Zamboni (add-on) https://localize.mozilla.org/projects/amo/
4) Communication dashboard: https://localize.mozilla.org/bn_BD/commbadge/
5) Rocketfuel: https://localize.mozilla.org/bn_BD/rocketfuel/
6) Marketplace stat: https://localize.mozilla.org/bn_BD/marketplace_stats/

Focus on P1 and P2. Zamboni is quite big and team is working on splitting it up to smaller components. If you can assign each component to a localizer, it will ease the load quite a bit.

let me know if you need anything else to get this started.

Thank you,
Peiying

Will start working on this today; team was busy with other bugs with truncated issues. Thank you Peiying.
Dear Peiying

I don't have submission access on https://localize.mozilla.org, unlike http://mozilla.locamotion.org/bn_BD/ The locamotion is maintained by Dawyne; he assigned me the role. I don't know who is doing "Localize", can you ask him to make me a coordinator or something in there; so that I can start right away with my team.

Hi Mahay,

Other than you, who else needs to have access to https://localize.mozilla.org? Since it is broken down in several components, it is good to have a few people working on them simultaneously. Please give me email accounts so we can grant access.

This location is not managed by Dawyne but by Matjaz Horvat. I can help coordinate the communication.

Thank you!
Peiying
One more thing, for categories, the strings are at a different location:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/localizers/bn-BD/categories/ (or change to bn-BD to bn). If you have a 404 error message, it means you have no account here. Please let me know your email address to be used here, so I can get your set up. Thanks!

Yes, I'm getting 404. Need your help :)
Thanks for the info, I have filed bugs to two different owners of the repositories.

Please add one more account: mythrobins@gmail.com
Hi Mahay,

To make things easier, and for requests on verbatim, you can have mythrobins register directly and clarify which locale it needs access to, the admin will grand permission. This way, I don't need to relay the message and it gets approved faster. Cheers.

I'll ask mythrobins to register on verbatim and requests through; but what about our access as a submitter; those who already have accounts on verbatim; say me?
Gen / Tony,

Do we need to be concern about this now?

Hi Mahay,

I think there are different access levels: translate, review and approve. I believe if you are at the approve level, you are granted of the other levels already. Other than that, you should be fine.
Has this been taken care of? we need this as part of 1.3
(I've been trying to check but seems like I'm unable to access Marketplace as of now :/)
Hi Mahay,

Is this being worked on? So far the overall status is 0% string translated.

Also, the Marketplace not only serves FFOS users, but also desktop and Android users. There is great incentive to get this going, and not just tied to the FFOS release schedule. Let me know if there are other issues that I can help you with so component owners can complete what they signed up for. Thank you!

Hi Mak,

I think we should aim to have the translations for item 1) "Front End: https://localize.mozilla.org/bn_BD/fireplace/" completed by End April.

Do you think this is achievable?

Thanks, Tony

Mak, I listed the components in the order of priority + categories. In addition, the product needs to be tested, so the earlier you complete it the sooner you can kick off the testing.

In addition, Marketplace is also used by desktop and Android users. Keep that in mind when you prioritize all the needs with the resources. Thanks!
At this point, it appears to me a "Rocket Science" submitting translation through verbatim.

If me and my fellow l10n volunteer don't get the submission access over Verbatim, we won't translate in vein.

What is the issue that made Mozilla (I don't know and don't want to know, who is responsible for this) not giving us submission access.

Mak, Verbatim has changed hands and we're still working on ensuring it works well for l10n teams. What is your username on Verbatim? We'll make you admin so that you can distribute rights.

Thank you Mahay. Are you using the same email address to access Verbatim as you do to bugzilla? Matjaz grant admin access to maktrix. If that's you, you ma want to log into a different account.
I use same email address throughout various Mozilla projects; my bugzilla and Verbatim email addresses are same. Yes, maktrix is my user name on Verbatim.
Mahay, could you list names of users you wanted to grant permission to? I can do that for you.
I am unable to access Marketplace when language is set to Bengali on latest 1.3 Moz RIL, Buri device:

*All* other v1.3 locales appear correctly. Is this because this has not been uplifted yet, or is this possibly another bug?
Marketplace just never ends up loading in Bengali - I don't even see an unlocalized screen.
Nominating for 1.3T as this should work and appear localized

Something is not connected correctly.

On Flod's status, it shows 0% progress
Verbatim shows some progress, but not 100% (this bug shouldn't be marked fixed if the p1-3 are not 100% and some progress in P4 mentioned in comment 1.

I don't see categories translated either.

It may be localized on Verbatim, but it also needs to be pushed to Github

As you can from the history, no commits were done for Zamboni
https://github.com/mozilla/zamboni/commits/master/locale/bn_BD/LC_MESSAGES/messages.po

I see some work for Fireplace on Verbatim
https://localize.mozilla.org/bn_BD/

But again, no commits to Github
https://github.com/mozilla/fireplace/commits/master/locale/bn_BD/LC_MESSAGES/messages.po

@Mahay
In the product page, you need to "Commit all to VCS" to push your changes to Github
https://localize.mozilla.org/bn_BD/fireplace/

I tried, it returned the following error message:

Failed to commit to version control: [GIT] push of ('/data/www/localize.mozilla.org/verbatim/pootle_env/Pootle-git/l10n_github_repos/fireplace', 'locale') failed: To git@github.com:mozilla/fireplace.git ! Merge the remote changes (e.g. 'git pull') hint: before pushing again. hint: See the 'Note about fast-forwards' in 'git push --help' for details.

or I do fork messages.po from zamboni, copy paste from verbatim's messages.po and push?

When I said, finished it had less words. Later, more words were added and the percentage went down. I just localized the new added words and it bn_BD is atop with 5 other completed locales in verbatim.

I did localized things on a spreadsheet, you asked through another bug. It has categories too.

It seems like you were able to commit in the end:
https://github.com/mozilla/fireplace/commit/de5c89b34c259562b9124e0f2a55daa14d4dab6a

Sometimes "Update all from VCS" is needed before you commit.

Full permission granted to all four of them. It means they can not only submit translations, but also commit to the VCS.
Mak, in comment #35, the strings in spreadsheet that you mentioned from a different bug is not the category portion we are discussing here. they are for editor's picks, vs. this one, it lists categories of all apps.

The team recently moved the categories in zamboni component and now is called Marketplace: https://localize.mozilla.org/projects/marketplace/. All your previous translation should be retained.

Thanks for making progress overall - I notice the status has changed, ;). Let's keep the bug open for now until we get Zippy localized - this one doesn't have bn-BD enabled.

Hi Joe,

This doesn't block Tarako release. This is the regular marketplace the bug is for, not 1.3T (comment #39). For 1.3T, the repo is called "yogafire", which the team had completed in May.

Mak,
Could you work with the team to take up each of the components listed in comment #3? Thank you!

Any update on splitting?
Thank you Mak, for making lots of progress. I can see the green color extended on the dashboard!!

Since we last talked, a few more components were added and the Zamboni component is slimmed down by a lot (it used to have almost 50K words).

To help prioritize, let's finish the components from left to right on the dashboard: http://l10n.mozilla-community.org/~flod/mpstats/

When you get to the Zamboni component, look for Category strings. These are MUST be completed strings or it looks really bad when a user lands on this page: https://marketplace-dev.allizom.org/ (click on All Categories).

Thank you,
Peiying
Thank you for making lots of progress. Now only these two are left to tackle:

https://localize.mozilla.org/bn_BD/marketplace/ - this one is huge so please share with other members to complete it.
https://localize.mozilla.org/bn_BD/fireplace/ - there are a few more strings left to be completed.
Fireplace is done. Just needs some reviews. Heading to the marketplace now.
