Using display ports for async scrolling on non-root scroll frames brings many complications that using them for root scroll frames alone does not have. The fact that root scroll frames form a stacking context being perhaps the most important. We've had several issues that only show up on non-root scroll frames.

I've already written a reftest for bug 966510 using this new syntax.

I have written a different patch for this that lets you set reftest-displayport-x/y/w/h on any element. I think that's a little clearer than this approach.
Okay, I guess we should back this out and modify the test from bug 966510 when your new way lands then.
