Description

4 years ago
In 2013, the slogan to launch Firefox OS was "Blaze your own path".

In 2014, the new slogan is going to be "Unleash the future"

The target audience is the industry, that will replace the main title on the https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/partners page and will also be used on the home page in a promo, in a tabzilla promo and on banners and printed material.

I am CCing Matej in case you have any doubt translating this slogan into your language. If your translation differs from the original English slogan, please document the reason here.

Although this slogan is already kind of public (presented on air.mozilla.org and on our demo servers for MWC and git/svn), I am marking this bug as confidential so as to not spread the work too much about it before MWC in two weeks and keep the line fresh for the launch.

Please provide your translation in this bug, I will store it for reference in this repo:
https://svn.mozilla.org/projects/granary/slogans/ja/firefoxos.lang

Thanks

Pascal

I can not commit to the https://svn.mozilla.org/projects/granary/slogans.
Would you give me credential to do it, Pascal?

This is a read-only repo precisely so as that we can make sure we only have final validated slogans that Marketing can use as a reference. Myself and Francesco can commit for you there.

Pascal, Thank you for the information.

Now, we (Mozilla Japan) are discussing about the Japanese slogans.
I will send you lang file by a Email after the creation of the validated slogans.

@Pascal

Would you let me know the background of this slogan.
Do you know any notes or memo about that?
Copying Matej's comment from another bug

> How does this compare to "Be the future," which we'll still be using for a developer audience.
> This should feel distinct from that. It should be passionate, empowering and inspiring.
> It should communicate to our partners that they can do more, do greater things with
> Firefox OS. There's a new, exciting future coming for mobile and Firefox OS will let
> them be part of it.

@Francesco

Thank you for the information.
It is a great help for our localization.

Have you decided what the slogan will be? We are integrating the site now and need to check that no CSS rules are needed to make it look good in Tabzilla. Thanks

I committed the file in r124889.

Can you please explain the meaning of the four slogans and the reasoning behind them? Are they literal translations or something else?

P.S. not sure why you marked the bug as invalid instead of fixed

The texts are only literal translations.

P.S. I can not mark this bug as fixed. That is the reason I marked as invalid.
