Test:
Kanafire App
https://marketplace.firefox.com/app/kanafire?src=search
Catch-up! App
https://marketplace.firefox.com/app/catchup?src=search
The same can not be downloaded.
Test early versions of FxOS, the same App is available for download.
How to debug this issue?
Welcome any comments.
Thanks.

Do we have any clarity on whether this is a Marketplace or platform bug?

Marking qawanted. Until we get a flatfish device we can't confirm this.

I have a flatfish device. Is there anyway I can confirm this?
I can say that *many* app pages (seems like a majority) say "This app is unavailable for your platform." - most of the ones I've clicked on from the landing page in fact.
The rest of the 500 tablet contribution participants will be receiving their devices shortly. I suspect they will have a similar experience.

I have tested the links provided in comment 0, comment 1 and comment 4 on Flatfish and am seeing the same behavior as the reporter.
Confirming.

This is because we current don't support FirefoxOS as a tablet. See the available platform options @ https://marketplace.firefox.com/developers/app/in-app-payment-tester-1/payments/

Do you have any plan to enable support of Firefox OS tablet on the Marketplace? The Tablet Contribution Program (https://wiki.mozilla.org/FirefoxOS/TCP) has been launched and some of the developers are interested in developing and testing of the Apps for the tablet devices. Thanks.

For those looking for updates to this, I'm told that the Marketplace will be updated to fix this issue this Tuesday (May 6).

That's incorrect. This bug has not been looked at yet

I'm a contributor to the Tablet Contribution Program and I can confirm the same behaviour on my Flatfish tablet : can only install the hosted apps but not the packaged apps.
Result : This app is unavailable for your platform.

Yes , it runs but it display only the root of the filesystem of the File Manager App instead of launching the app ! I can anyway launch the app by tapping the "index.html" file. What's the problem now ?

Please do not close and reopen bugs if you are unsure if the bug is good to be closed yet.
Have you tried rebooting the device to see if the app loads properly after the reboot?

Sorry, I should think about it next time.
After rebooting app loads properly. A new bug 1008516 has been opened.

I think this bug is fixed in latest master branch.
Having check on these apps, all of them are able to download and install on marketplace.
