When switching away, it should. I regard that bug as "when you're done, and leave the task, should it quit itself?"

That was also a concern of mine. I expected this view to be happening in either Settings or Firefox, and not as its own separate thing. So if there is a way to collapse this down into one or the other, great. But for the time being we should at the very least fix the icon.

Alas no. It's not part of Android Settings, because we need to do more than just show Android's checkboxes. And it's not part of BrowserApp or Fennec's settings, because BrowserApp hates freedom. (The only thing BrowserApp will allow you to do when you activate that task is go back to about:home. Oh, you were setting up Sync? SAD FOR YOU.)

So all Firefox Accounts stuff happens in a separate Android task -- and the same will be true for every other non-instant Activity that we ship as part of Firefox.

That's exactly what Google tells us to do, in fact -- it's how singleTask apps like Firefox allow for task resuming.

Necessarily each task will have a name and an icon, appear separately in the task listing, and all that good stuff.

We can make the FxA task go away when you're done (Bug 971786 will end up being that), but it has to stick around while you're going through the motions. And, of course, we'll fix the icon!
The icon should be fixed now; this landed as part of Bug 977336.
