User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:27.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/27.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20140127194636

Steps to reproduce:

No "steps" required - you know the error message that appears whenever FireFox fails to start up properly - more often than not its an issue unrelated to Firefox.

Actual results:

The error message presented is "Well this is embarrassing..."
For an organisation wishing to present a professional face, the small stuff - such as this childish message conveys the impression that whatever happened that made the message appear - was actually caused by Firefox. For example - when I get a windows bluescreen - on restarting the computer FF says "Well this is embarrassing" - if I were not a teccy, I would now believe that it was FF that caused the BSOD.

Expected results:

Get rid of the error message and replace it with something more professional, and certainly more helpful. "Well this is embarrassing" conveys no useful information of any sort other than making FF look bad.

If FF had truly failed to start because there was a problem with the FF code, then I would see a GPF. Firefox has evidently NOT crashed because it offers you restart options for tabs open etc.

A more professional, more useful message such as "Firefox failed to start up because......" would be more helpful to Users that would not take responsibility for a BSOD or connectivity issue unrelated to FF code execution.
Why do you imply there is an organization that wishes to present a professional face?

Seriously? That's your response?

Present an unprofessional face then - I couldn't give two hoots.
I have no axe to grind. I've offered you an impartial suggestion based on my 30 years IT experience. My suggestion is an improvement on the pointless and unhelpful error message you currently show.

You can please yourself if you include my suggestion or not. It's for your benefit not mine, but at least accept the suggestion with some grace. Your response is as 'embarrassing' and unhelpful as your error message.

You seem to mix up some things here - there is a Mozilla corporation, a foundation, several projects, a community. I don't know why you think that it's "my error message", because it's not.
Maybe it's ours though, yours and mine.
