It just makes sense... Sometimes uploads take a long time too, and the limited feedback may make the user want to abort the transfer. A similar UI to the download manager could be adopted, or this could potentially be integrated into it. This will probably be much nicer if bug 25995 is implemented, as this would allow for a single window "Transfer Manager". I don't know if FTP uploads are implemented. Here I am mostly concerned with the existing HTTP upload capability. Propose to add this to bug 75364...
Since this would cover more than HTTP, I'll take this under networking for now. Final destination is probably xp-apps.

Does this RFE affect any design decisions being made in bug 102477? I don't understand the architecture enough to know.

Bugs targeted at mozilla1.0 without the mozilla1.0 keyword moved to mozilla1.0.1 (you can query for this string to delete spam or retrieve the list of bugs I've moved)
Target Milestone: mozilla1.0 → mozilla1.0.1

I would like to add my support to this proposal, particularly as it would allow me to cancel uploads if the upload is slow, with the intention of retrying the upload again at a later date. This would be particularly nice once Download Manager also has Pause and Resume functionality (reported in quite a few bugs elsewhere).
-> download manager, closest, relevant XP-app component.

Planning to dupe this to bug 243468, which has more discussion.
