Details
PNG-Images are displayed with the Quicktime-Plugin on my windows 2000, and not by the browser itself, as it should be. Build: 0.93+ ID 2001082909 and 0.93 This works as expected on my Linux with 0.93

my Quicktime Version is Quicktime-D 5.0.2. I disabled Mimetype handling for PNG files in control panel and it seems to work for png-images in a page, but not for png-images loaded directly with Mozilla (i.e. by clicking on a link that leads to a png-file)

Marking as dupe of bug 69719. Reporter: You may wish to peruse the comments in bug 69719, as there're some solutions discussed there. One suggestion was to delete npqtplugin3.dll from the plugins directory of Mozilla. If you're still seeing this, perhaps bug 69719 should be reopened. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 69719 ***

I renamed npqtplugin3.dll and npqtplugin5.dll, but the Quicktime plugin still starts (I see the Quicktime logo) when I direktly load a png-image with the browser (image: http://www.libpng.org/pub/png/img_png/MagnoliaAlpha-0.5.png).
