I have Thunderbird 28.0 on a windows 8.1 64 bit computer

I experienced this bug when I moved the menu button of Thunderbird to another position
then updated it.
The menu button used to be movable, it's now locked.
So I have two menu buttons when I go to chat.

Steps to reproduce:
Have a version of Thunderbird that does not have the menu button locked (26 or 27 i think)
right click the top of Thunderbird
click customize
move the menu button to the right and onto the menu bar
upgrade Thunderbird Beta
click "chat" in the mail toolbar

Expected result:
that two menu buttons don't exist
or by clicking "restore defaults"
will reset the menu button

Actual Result:
Two menu buttons exist
and clicking "restore defaults"
does not fix it

not 26, 27 (was thinking of Firefox)

This comes from bug 785692 where the AppButton is added to Chat- and Lightning toolbars with their own IDs. You can easily remove the button on this toolbars with customize when you have the main AppButton in tab- or menubar.

Maybe a logic could be programmed which removes the AppButtons on Chat- and Lightning toolbars when the main AppButton is removed from Mail toolbar (either when totally removed or moved to a other toolbar).
