We want to highlight community members or Mozillians under each competency in the Explore section. This is an opportunity to recognize stellar community members. They might be: * people who've created great content * people who champion a certain competency (not necessarily through wmo tools) * active community members Eventually, we might be able to localize who shows up in this area. For each of the 14 competencies, we will need: * Their names * Hi-res photos * Titles * Contact info (TBD: how would they prefer to be listed/contacted? Twitter? Email?) * Webmaker username From each setting we would like to link to their profiles on Webmaker.org, so this should be a requirement (we can get them to create an account if needed) Here's a screenshot of how we are currently imagining this being implemented: http://cl.ly/U8fR Claw, can you assign this appropriately?

I'd suggest long-term that the those featured under each competency are those who have the relevant badge. So featured mentors under 'Remix' are those that have the Remix Competency badge. This is impossible for MVP as the badges won't exist. So is there a way we can do this that allows us to show the difference between staff/community-nominated mentors who we think have these skills vs. (later) those who have bona fides in the shape of badges?

Doug, I'd suggest filing another ticket for someone to follow up with /Explore mentors to apply for relevant badges, once that process is available. Will be a nice way to test the badge process, once it's in place. We have a great list of names coming together, now just need to clarify which people for which competencies.

We have a Gdoc (I can give you access if you want, just not pasting here because has private info about people) where we have nominations. Next steps: * Michelle contacting super mentors to confirm their info and agree to be on site (today) * Super Mentors respond (today - next Wed)

Keeping in mind the design (https://www.dropbox.com/s/cgctgpsq3uj83mz/Screenshot%202014-04-08%2011.43.15.png) There are a few more things before we can implement this: * Can you transfer the information that is allowed to be public to an open doc so it can be reviewed? * There are no titles in the doc - should we omit them? Replace them in the design with username? * Photos need to be minimum 400px x 400px, preferably .jpg format, and should be a close crop of the mentor's face (a good example: https://webmaker.mofostaging.net/img/explore/brett.jpg) * Are there any competencies that are missing mentors?

Possible to make them part of the design? Think they show the range of our contributors really well. If they need editing, let us know. I like that they're more like Twitter bios and personal/quirky. * Photos: Can we get some help editing the photos? Or if there are ones that can't be added / aren't good enough, can coordinate directly with mentors. If not bandwidth on product team, let us know. * Competencies: There are at least 2 mentors per competency (some are listed in more than one). In Gdoc, you can see by Form > Show summary of responses

Not sure we can do the titles, but we'll see if we can implement them -- if not, we can always add them to mentors' profiles. I marked in the google doc which photos are good/ok/need to be better quality. I can help the cropping. Can you flag me for review when the photos have been updated?
