Apologies for the intrusion, but let me explain something to your developers!

I have conducted exhaustive surveys of adult webmasters, about why they are
resisting the new Gekko based browsers....

<rant>

The real 'backbone' of the internet is, has always been, and always will be
adult content! It is simply superior to Dads sock drawer, and always will be!
No other part of thew Internet generates as much traffic or $$$.

The single most CRITICAL COMPONENT that is missing from ALL major browsers, with
the exception of Navigator Gold and N4 is the [shift]-click "Save Target As"
shortcut in those browsers!

Both adult Webmasters (likely the only loyal Navigator users still out there)
and ALL porn collectors treasure this single feature above all others! As a
technician, I have even made a small business out of customizing old PC
keyboards so that a "Paper Clip" need not be used to take advantage of this
indispensable Navigator feature!

IE, Opera nor any other browser offers this functionality!

If you ever hope to find people latching on to the admittedly 'superior' nuances
of the Gekko-based product it is absolutely mandatory that this critical
functionality be (quietly) restored to that product!

Without it, we're all doomed to "Smart Tags" for good!

</rant>
Shift click works for me. Try using linux.
dunno, I always did a right-click (or a control-click on Mac) and picked "Save
Link As..." or "Save Image As..." from the context menu when I wanted a Save As...

This doesn't belong in the server operations product. This sounds like an RFE
for Mozilla.

Shift+clicking on a link (for "save link as") works fine for me on Windows 98.
I even tried it at a porn site. What is this bug about?
The reporter replied to me by email, but I think he meant this to be a comment
in the bug:

"This was an old bug with some earlier builds - now long repaired, also,
copy/paste to URL entry is also fixed."

That would make this bug worksforme, unless someone can find a fixed bug that
it's a dup of.

sfraser -> is this broken on Mac, did it ever work? If not, should actually
reopen and make it a Mac only bug (shift click does nothing)
on Mac, option-click should be save link as.
I should add that option-click doesn't work.
Alright then, this bug is for Mac only, clicking option and clicking on a link
should open a dialog for save as and it does not (Mac OS X 2001120408)
