Details
It seems that on every Sync cycle, the theme installed from AMO gets reapplied, making the browser background flicker.

Tracy, this reminds me vaguely of a bug you had filed long ago and recently duped to - does it ring any bells?

The only theme related sync bug I have recently touched on would be bug 969658. Which was duped to the legacy sync version of the bug 579843.
