To be honest I'm a bit confused by the .xpi format.

Do you want to add the dictionary files to your build? AFAIK the license they're distributed with (GPL) is not good for inclusion into builds.

The dictionary seems to already be on AMO, unless I'm looking at the wrong locale

Also: the bug says "update the bundled dictionary", but I don't see any on Mercurial

You should have a /extensions/spellcheck/hunspell folder

The permitted licenses for dictionaries we can ship as part of the build are on https://wiki.mozilla.org/L10n:Dictionaries.

Sorry, my bad, I got mixed up with programs we bundle it with and the ones we don't. It's not the license that's the issue on Mozilla but the fact it gives us a useful metric (users of Gaelic browser vs users of the spellchecking app)
