There should be a preference to make the URL bar autocomplete ignore URLs which are the result of form submissions, as these are rarely things that I want to complete to.

Alec, is this information noted somehow in the history database?

This shouldn't be a pref. (It would be one heck of an obscure pref, and we already have WAY too many prefs for this feature.) Either we should decide not to autocomplete for GET form submissions, or we should decide that we are going to autocomplete for them.
Is this bug about get forms (where the query is part of the URL, after a question mark) or post forms? Post forms: dup of bug 94514. Get forms: I disagree.
Summary: [RFE] Preference for autocomplete to ignore form submissions → Preference for autocomplete to ignore form submissions
Product: Core → Mozilla Application Suite
For GET forms this seems like a bad idea... I use autocomplete for GET URLs all the time.
