User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:28.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/28.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20140303165517 Steps to reproduce: - Open add-ons manager - Click Extensions - Click check for updates - Click update buttons on listed add-ons if any update exists - While downloading the update, click another tab in addons-manager or click another browser tab Actual results: Add-on is not updated. Download bar is not displayed any more when switched back to the screen where update is issued. This also happenes when a new ado-on is to be installed from the add-ons site or addons.mozilla.org. While downloading, a small process bar is displayed on top of the screen, under the tabs bar. İf the focus changed to another tab, downloading stops, and the addon is not installed. For fast networks this might not be a problem, for the add-ons are most probably already updated or installed before the user gets to click another tab during the download. But in slower networks, this occurs every time. Expected results: Add-on or an update should have been downloaded and installed.

sorry for undo confirm. I remember once encountering this problem, but this time on Firefox 28 temporarily unable to reproduce, it seems to work fine.

I was unable to reproduce this issue on Firefox 53.0a1 (2016-11-21), Firefox 52.02 (2016-11-21), Firefox 51.0b2 and Firefox 50.0 under Windows 10 64-bit and Ubuntu 16.04 32-bit: - following the first scenario (while updating an add-on via about:addons), the add-on is successfully updated, even the focus was changed to another tab during the download process - following the second scenario (the add-on is installed from addons.mozilla.org), the download process is not interrupted while switching to another tab, and the user is automatically pulled back after the download is finished in order to confirm the installation process
