(Whiteboard: DUPEME WONTFIX?)

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.3) Gecko/20010801 BuildID: 2001080104 If i open several (at least 2) instances of mozilla and try to mange bookmarks in any manner other instances doesn't notice that. Futhermore, if last instance of mozilla that I exit is not that one, in which i had managed bookmarks, all changes are discarded. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. open two instances of mozilla: (a) and (b) 2. edit bookmarks in any manner in (a) 3. close (a) 4. close (b) 5. run mozilla again and see, that all changes gone :( Actual Results: changes in bookmarks panel competely discarded Expected Results: changes in bookmarks panel must be accepted it's a simpe, but VERY annnoyng bug
Reporter, can you please try and reproduce this using a current build. I'm on Linux, same arch, and I can't see that with 2001090308. This is an important issue and I'm sure it would be reported by now. Can you try with a fresh ~/.mozilla/ directory too, please? I'm awaiting your followup.
Reporter, I can see the bookmarks refreshing on two windows. But wait; is your report referring to having two __instances of the browser__ open? As in running mozilla from the shell and then running another browser?
From email: > i run two instance of mozilla from a launcher in Gnome's panel > and bug is 100% reproducabe in my envirounment: > Linux 2.4.5 (Slackware 8.0) > XFree86 v 4.1.0 > Gnome 1.4 Reporter, this behaviour never did work with Netscape and I doubt it will with Mozilla, but I am finding a bug to dupe this one against. To open two windows, use the New Browser Window menu option, or click with middle button on a link. When browsing with multiple windows, bookmarks will syncronize perfectly. bug 31575 covers a consequence of this, but it's not bookmarks. I'll mark new and try DUPEME and WONTFIXME. Ben, this is more of a profile thing but you can close it off if you like.

Whiteboard: DUPEME WONTFIX?
interesting that this and bug 98016 would be filed so close to each other comepletly independently. Anyway it would seem they are both dupes of bug 76431 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 76431 ***
