User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:27.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/27.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20140212131424 Steps to reproduce: Based on this tool, http://www.sprymedia.co.uk/article/Unit, we should create a nice way to measure the distance between elements on a page. This should also help with bug 969566, as it would provide information for better printing dimensions of a page.

Any news on this? Thanks
This would be a nice feature to have natively available in the Developer Tools. Currently, there is an addon called, MeasureIt (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/measureit/reviews/?src=api), which I use regularly enough. It has a fairly high install (163k), so there is certainly demand for the ability to measure the distances between different locations and elements on the page. This could be another well-fitted candidate for the ToolBox, if development of this is up for consideration.
Totally agree with Dane. We should combine it with the new way to highlight elements through the inspector.
Several measuring tools now exist in the tools and can be enabled from the options (gear icon). Let's file new bugs to track additional features beyond what we have today.
