Steps to reproduce:

This issue was created somewhere around version 20. I'm sure 17 didn't have it and 24 certainly has it.
I selected "Tools"/"Edit" (dep. on OS) -> "Preferences" -> "Privacy".
In "History" I activated "Use custom settings for history"
I unchecked "Remember search and form history"


Actual results:

FireFox sync always brings an error in errorlog (nothing is visible on UI):

The full logfile is attached. In the log the name of the SyncServer (I'm using my own sync server) is changed. This log was created with version 24.3.0 of Iceweasel (Debian), but the same occurs on Windows with FF 27.


Expected results:

Sync should complete without any errors.

Sounds like bug 932759 - any chance you could verify in a more recent build?
