Update status is visible via the about flyout and as such, I think a lot of users aren't aware updates are available. As such w tend to collect a lot of stragglers who don't get updated in a timely fashion. I think it would be helpful to prompt for updates in the main ui after a period of time, similar to the way desktop throws up a desktop notification.
