Can we confirm we can repro this on Moz side on 1.3?

Reproduces on v1.3 on buri. On a two-party call, dialed numbers on keypad are seen correctly. When a third party is added to the call, dialed numbers on the keypad are no longer able to be seen. Adding attachment of results.

UX - Was this an intended use case needing to be supported with conference calls? Trying to figure out the user need here & if this use case was initially planned for up front.

Flagging Carrie to comment on dialer behavior per comment #4 and comment #5.

Hi, I think this is a bug. The numbers should be displayed. Thanks!

Carrie - Can you go into more detail about what the dial pad is used for within the conference calls? I get this is a bug, but I'm trying to better understand what use cases we lose if we don't support this.

Hi Jason,

I'm thinking of two scenarios.
1. If one of the calls is the kind of service call, the user shall need to input numbers to move forward for the service process.
2. Personally I face a scenario that I'm on a call and want to remember some numbers (maybe a set of phone number) from the other caller, I usually trigger the keypad to input it. Maybe this is not a correct way to do the notes, but it works when you are in hurry.

Thanks!

Vance - Is this a cert blocker for TCL?

Wilfred - Based on the use cases mentioned in comment 9, is this is a blocker or not for Mozilla's side?

No, this is not a cert blocker for TCL

This might be a dup of bug 981468. The patch in that bug fixed more problems than just hiding the keypad during multi-parti calls so we should probably check if this bug is still present with that fix applied.
I added the patch of bug 981468 to Mozilla build ID: 20140304164005, it can not fix this bug.

Commenting on Wilfred's behalf while he is out:
I think the backlog makes sense in this case. This is not ideal, but we shouldn't stop the release on this.
This assumes that dialing functionality still works (just doesn't display).

I wonder if it still happens.
