Is it possible from the tools page to get links to relevant Teaching Kits/Activities in the "Get Started Area"
X-Ray Goggles: https://mozteach.makes.org/thimble/xray-goggles-teaching-kit
Thimble: https://mozteach.makes.org/thimble/ways-of-the-web-teaching-kit
Popcorn: https://mozteach.makes.org/thimble/ways-of-the-web-teaching-kit
Laura are there better/more examples?

Better one for Thimble: https://mozteach.makes.org/thimble/thimble-teaching-kit

This raises a good point, that we should revisit /tools with the teaching perspective in mind. I wouldn't want to do this in the current structure though. Linking to Thimble kits from descriptions of each tool would probably be confusing.
What would work better is to redesign this page (we will need to add Appmaker at some point anyway, and perhaps Atuls WebLit Mapper) with an additional section for "Teaching Tools" or "Teaching Materials" <--not sure about the name, but I think making the distinction between what is an application vs. what is remixable material is important (ESP for beginners, which this page is for).
Would that solve your need, Chris?
Side note – if we are going to use those kits as canonical kits, we should make sure the branding appears at the correct aspect ratio (https://mozteach.makes.org/thimble/thimble-teaching-kit and https://mozteach.makes.org/thimble/ways-of-the-web-teaching-kit, though the latter might be a popcorn bug)
Not sure what would be confusing about a link that said "Want Teach with X-Ray Goggles" and the link took you to the appropriate Teaching Kit, which we have for each tool
Popcorn: https://mozteach.makes.org/thimble/popcorn-teaching-kit
Thimble: https://mozteach.makes.org/thimble/thimble-teaching-kit
X-Ray Goggles: https://mozteach.makes.org/thimble/xray-goggles-teaching-kit
Agree on eventual redesign, but my read is that would be later in the year and a bit lower on the priority list then other stuff, so this might be an easy fix to make discoverable some of our better and aligned kits.
Yes these are our key Kits for these tools, should I file a bug to make sure they are in line with the style guide?

My main issue is the Remix button on those kits. If a user has no idea what Thimble, Popcorn or Xray Goggles are – and they click into the teaching kit link, they are being taken into a Thimble pathway (even if they meant to go into Popcorn or Goggles).
Some considerations:
* Would like to focus on a single goal per page. For this page, how about: "As a user, I can understand the capabilities of and differences between each Webmaker tool and easily get started with each."
* Our teaching material is ALSO a tool that is not represented here. But it's not an "application" like the others are. How do we help users understand this?
I hear you that this is an opportunity to increase discoverability of teaching kits.

Yes please. Branding is my main concern here as opposed to overall design. We want consistency so users can feel confident moving through the site, so they feel like they're in the right place.

+1 to a 2nd pass at the teach page that helps guide this.
I will file bug to get proper branding/design sheen on those three fundamental Kits, they are good and basically how-tos on those tools so we should have them correct in all the ways they need to be.
I am somewhat willing to wait on redesign of the page, but if we are talking about Q2/3 I think we need a way to signpost to the kits inbetween
