Build 2001080110, Win98SE, IMAP Upon logging in today I was notified that wasted space exceeded my threshold, should local folders be compacted? I chose yes. I have ~4200 messages in my Inbox, of which ~1400 were marked unread. As the folder was being compacted the unread message indicator was counting down. Eventually only those messages (~85) which had been received during this login were still marked as unread. At some point during the process the indicator jumped back to ~1400, then counted down again. At the time the process appeared to be finished (no more disk activity), the indicator was back to 85. Mail messages were now corrupted, however - choosing a particular header brought up what a random portion of the inbox, that is, the header didn't correspond to what was displayed. Exiting, deleting Inbox.msf, and restarting resulted in a rebuilt inbox which appears correct, although the unread message count is still at 85, suggesting that the unread status of messages previously kept is now lost. Upon exiting I also found the files Inbox-1, Inbox-1.msf, and nstmp to be in my local Mozilla mail directory.
Please use a newer build, that problem was fixed the next day, as I understand it. Reassign to Navin for duping
