I expect this is more expensive than the author expected. The reason for calling window.stop() during onscroll is not clear to me.

The reason was "to stop the loading images while users are scrolling and I did not know how this expensive was. The user is seeing a set of of contacts and the images start loading. The use case is the user starts scrolling again while images are loading. In that point we added the window.stop in order to stop the loading of images because the user wants to go to another place on the list.
