I'd like to have a newer 7z available so that I can unpack .tar.xz files for sccache. Upgrading 7zip (4.42 -> 4.65) has been tried in the past in bug 409455, but because of bug 711309 it was backed out in bug 763019. I'd like to try the latest version (9.20) since it supports xz, and according to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=711309#c0 it wouldn't have the same problem as bug 711309.

Updated bug info to reflect the fact that we won't fix this in MozillaBuild v1, but install a newer 7z alongside it using GPO for now.

A GPO is now pushing out 7 zip 9.20 (latest). It is located at C:\programfiles\7-Zip or C:\programfiles )x86)\7-Zip in Windows 8.
Please could you file a bug to ensure this gets fixed in MozillaBuild v2 (now this bug isn't in that component I'm worried we'll forget). Thanks :-)
