Hi all, As part of our Australis campaign, we will invite those who see our social posts and are on the snippet to sign up to be one of the first to learn about Firefox 29 launch (essentially opting them in and they will be part of the Firefox & You flow). Instead of creating a new landing page, we were hoping to temporarily update moz.org/newsletter for the first 2 weeks of April to have the same sign up but with maybe a screenshot of an Australis feature. I will attach a mock up to give you an idea of what we are thinking. This would only be live for 2 weeks (starting in April) and will convert back to the normal look and feel afterwards.
Cmore and Malexis- Is this possible? What is the level of effort? Do we have resources to get this live for April 15ish? Thx, Jen

This would be more needed on the first weekish of April - if worse comes worse, all we need to do is change the copy (Be the first to sign up, etc....clearly copy needs to be worked and aligned with the glow/choice campaign).
Hi all, any updates on this? Just keep me in the loop! Thanks!

Are we planning on sending an email to our existing newsletter subscribers when Australis is released? Will the updates to the newsletter page push to the same newsletter in Exact Target or is this an Australis specific newsletter sign up form?

Hi Chris, Those who sign up on this page will be part of the Firefox & You user flow. So we will not be creating a separate sign up form - they will get the same newsletter in Exact Target. And yes we will be sending everyone in Firefox & You (including those who signed up for Australis) a "launch email" that Australis is here and to go download. Hope this makes sense! Jean

All of our resources are focused on other Australis activities. Plus, this is a temporary content update and it is using the same "Firefox & You" newsletter. My recommendation is to seed users via our owned media channels to sign up to the newsletter to be the first to know about Australis. If we are talking about that already on our owned media channels/social and then linking people to the newsletter page, I don't see the purpose of saying it all over again there. Also, the newsletter page is currently translated in many locales and these new strings would then have to be translated and that means all of the development would would need to be done this week. This is not a realistic timeline and this will have to be removed from the scope of Australis launch. It doesn't mean we can't send a newletter, but updating content on the generic newsletter page will not be able to be done in-time for the April 29th release.

Hi Chris, Thanks for your feedback, and totally understand on the timing/resourcing issue. Thanks for looking into this anyways!
