User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:27.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/27.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20140218140359 Steps to reproduce: I open firefox (I tried restarting many times). When I: * click a link on firefox home page (only page that display) * click a link from history etc * insert url by hand Actual results: there is short flash of "working wheel" as if it started loading the page, then it suddenly disappear and nothing happens just as if it "immediately canceled" the loading. I mean, literally nothing, no error page just nothing. Basically it just suddenly stopped working, I didn't install anything to my system, not even any plugin to firefox. Expected results: It should open the link or at least display some reason why it doesn't open, not just "silently die" not doing anything.
OS: Linux → Windows 7
note I report this from different PC because firefox on that PC wouldn't open bugzilla
In safe mode it does the same
So I figured out the problem was in WinSock that was returning WSAENOBUFS to applications because google drive went mad and opened huge number of ephimeral ports. This however should cause firefox to display some sane error instead of just doing nothing
Summary: firefox can't open any page, url or link (literally nothing happens) → Can't open any page, url or link (due to WinSock returning WSAENOBUFS): Should show error message
