On a fresh Ubuntu 13.10 (saucy) VM, with nightly firefox, up-to-date Gaia checkout and freshly created profile-debug, when I get past the lockscreen I see only the wallpaper - no icons at all. 

Here's the output on the terminal, with some possibly-related Unity/Ubuntu errors:

about:support shows a number of Ubuntu/Unity extensions are enabled (this is a fresh profile, I've not knowingly or manually installed any extensions). I'll attach a screenshot (can't seem to copy/paste from about:support)
Maybe another manifestation of bug 981484, which would be awesome if it's easy to reproduce \o/

Mass update: Resolve wontfix all issues with legacy homescreens.

As of 2.6 we have a new homescreen and having these issues open is confusing. All issues will block bug 1231115 so we can use that to re-visit any of these if needed.
