985913 - Give Training navigation design some tips/advice

Hey Cassie! I know this is not the right way to design a page, but I'm hoping it can be viewed as quick win designing (also I think visually, so...)

Since we're trying to show Training as a part of webmaker, I was thinking that the sub-navigation in the module pages (e.g. the "pill" navigation here: http://training.mofostaging.net/exploring/explore/ ) should actually follow Webmaker subnav.

I noticed that on Events, you have no subnav, so I'm not sure if this is the right direction to take this.

I hacked this together in the browser: http://i.imgur.com/h9A73qv.png It's distinct from Webmaker (no longer monochromatic, icons moved into subnav), but also the same (layout). Though, Webmaker is in active development too. Maybe Training can steal the beautiful old design ;)

Could you give some tips or ideas? White on yellow is doofy, I know. I tried ALL the different colors and thought blue w/ yellow looked the best (complimentary ftw).

Hey Laura,

The Events nav represents a user "funnel" – so a reduced nav when inside an application, so there are less distracting visual elements. Eventually we want to use this refined, less cluttered nav as a basis for unifying nav across all the tools (popcorn, thimble, etc). This would actually be a very good candidate for Training, because Training is a big module you would *launch* from Webmaker.org, but it's a shame there is no subnav yet – you're right.

So for now, I would just copy the nav styles from webmaker.org.
