User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:28.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/28.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20140317233501

Steps to reproduce:

I was trying to create an account for an existing email adress hosted at Gandi.net. The address has the form myname@mydomain.net. The server parameters have been correctly discovered by Thunderbird. All the parameters looked OK in th configuration window (I have several such accounts already configured succesfully a few years ago and that are working correctly). The issue is that the login / password is not recognized so that the authentification fails.

Actual results:

After looking around, I have remarked that Thunderbird tries to log into the Gangi mail servers using myname@mydomain.net@gandi.net instead of myname@mydomain.net. (I have checked several times the login/password combination by setting up the account on other mail readers.)

Expected results:

The login should have been myname@mydomain.net as it is entered in the configuration dialog.
I have just updated Thunderbird to v24.4.0 (Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/24.4.0), the bug is still present.

By the way, there was a mistake in my bug report above. When asking for a password, Thunderbird infers the myname@mydomain.net@mail.gandi.net and not myname@mydomain.net@gandi.net as reported. Once again, it should be myname@mydomain.net.

Pierre Boulet
