The preview and other UI elements overlap with the setting options. Transparency sacrifices readability for no benefit. I created a patch that makes the settings solid black (also attached screenshot)

dmarcos: This may look better, but considering how many *serious* bugs we have to clear, this seems like a waste of people's time. I would prefer mild subjective bugs like this to be off my radar for the time being.

Hi Diego, 

The reason the menu is not 100% opaque is that we don't want the user to feel that by going into the settings menu, they left the camera app.

The transparency helps with showing the user that they are still in the camera app and that there isn't a disconnect between the camera settings menu and the camera.

During usability testing this week we didn't encounter any issues with people having difficulty reading the option menu items. We should leave as is.
